FAQ's
STEPS is a biblical 13-step process that consists of daily Bible stdy and reflection, one-on-one mentoring, and a large-group teaching time, and sharing in small groups.
Teaching - Sitting Under the Word
The first 30 minutes, after our meal, is spent in the large group with teaching for the weeks study.
Small Groups -Biblical Community
Relationships are necessary components to our spiritual growth. During the last hour of each week's group session, participants are divided into small groups (guys and girls).
The group leader begins with prayer and then guides discussion.
Mentors - Personal Discipleship
Mentors are belivers who have faithfully completed the STEPS program and the necessary training and have developed sufficent spiritual maturity to disciple someone else.
Participents and mentors are responsible to meet together weekly.
Daily Study - Feeding on the Word
Daily homework -- a combination of Bible Study, reflection, and prayer -- is required throughout the STEPS program. In addition, questions are designed to challenge participants to honestly and prayerfully examine their lives in light of the Scriptures they are studying.
Assessment - Equipping in Confession and Repentance
In the middle of the program, we will transition from homework to assessment work. This is a time of reflecting on and writing about specific sins, situations, and relationships that may be robbing us the freedom we have in Christ.
STEPS meetings typically last about 2 hours.
6:30-7:00pm we begin with a meal
7:00-7:30pm we will have large group meeting
7:30-8:30pm we will then break into small groups
